Great to here AZ Library Association introduced ABCD. How can we "listen in" on the conversation in Arizona about how libraries are connecting to communities, and vis-a-versa? I think there are a lot of great things happening out there, but are rarely shared beyond the local communities.

Comment by Michael Mather on March 1, 2010 at 12:31pm: About 10 years ago in South Bend we got together with our neighborhood library and had some good conversations. They had been coming over to our church and spending time with some children who were there in the summer and they said "we never see these kids or their families at the library." There was a young woman in our neighborhood, Sonia, who was looking for a summer job and we gave her a small stipend to walk with children and their families over to the library all summer. I'm not sure what more came out of it then some good walks and a good time - but that is always worth something!
